This album was originally recorded for ‘Upcountry Sundays,’ a live radio show taped at Casanova’s in Makawao on the island of Maui, HI, by Mana’o Radio. The live-acoustic performance features some live talk-story by me, and an all acoustic version of my 7-piece band “Human and The Other Humans.” Maui is one of the most special places in the world. When we were offered the opportunity to perform for the island-wide radio station, we gratefully and humbly accepted. After the show, engineer Les Adams handed us a fully multi-tracked recording of our performance which we brought back to CA. I went to my old buddy Peter Temple’s studio and we mixed the show to our liking and eventually released it as our first (and only official) live recording. The album includes the story of how I originally manifested meeting, and smoking weed, with Willie Nelson, and you bet I’d do it again! This album also features some great live acoustic versions of some of our fan-favorite songs.
