Breathe – 2006
Breathe was an epic musical undertaking for me and the crew at the time. It represented the first time I was offered a budget large enough to make each song shine the way I wanted to hear them. The roots of the album is created by my touring band of the time ‘Human and the Revolution’ including virtuoso guitarist Pit Steffan. This album certainly has the most world and hip-hop influence of any in my catalogue, and is often referred to as a favorite by our west coast fanbase. I was stoked to be able to have five of my favorite guitarists play on the same album! The tracklist features an electro-remix version of my award winning pro-hemp song ‘Tree of Life,’ as well as a sobering and intense historical journey into the relationship between America and the First Nations People on the song ‘Don’t Ignore’ and it’s intro ’Stolen Lives.’ The album also includes guest appearances by some of my favorite vocalists and musicians: Amae Love, MC Translation, Sherry Glaser, Char Tomahawk, Leah Hunter, Roger Fritz, Shakina “Ma” Coronna, Lily Parsons, Jim Dooley, Marcia Sloane, Singing Bear, Lindy Kehoe, Kevin Grant, Jai Vatuk, Shariana Suliafu, Al Torre, Pilar Duran, Trish Godwin, and more.
